Next Book Update

Has it been a year (and 8 months) already? My, how time flies!

A lot of things have happened in my personal life that resulted in not releasing anything this year. My day job became very busy, and my family spent the better part of 2018 looking for, and finally moving into, a house. There was also a wedding mixed in there and a family vacation, and my kids became active in more extracurricular activities, all eating into what was my evening and weekend writing time.

While all that was going on, I did begin work on the second Echoes novel but put it on hold when I realized I didn’t have time to focus on it. I’ve always found scripts easier to write, so I decided to write a feature horror script called Sundown after a cabin trip with some good friends. I’m not sure what I’ll do with it, but it was fun to work on even if only for me.

All that said, I’ve finally begun work on a new novel, this one taking place in the world of The Lost Door. While I’m writing it with young adults in mind it still pushes the envelope. If I stick to my plan I should have it out next summer. After that, I may go back to the Echoes sequel, assuming there is interest from readers.

So there you go, a brief update that I am still working on stuff, just not as quickly as I would like. I hope in the coming weeks things will die down enough that I can get back to my 1500-words a day writing regiment.
